The gelatine papers were slipped into place like lenses, being mounted on levers. There are two devices on the Harvard photographs, that match Münsterbergs decription "77. Apparatus for mixing colors by the combination of colored gelatine papers. After Münsterberg, by Elbs, Freiburg". The first one is shown here, the other one can be seen in an experimental setting in use together with the Magic Lantern. See also a color photograph of this device, its "second version", in the Harvard Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments. |
