The Virtual Laboratory was initiated by the research project «The Experimentalization of Life» (2000-2011). Based on a cooperation with the Max Planck-Institute for the History of Science, Berlin, it is further developed by the program in Media Studies at the University of Regensburg.

The Virtual Lab research project ended in 2011. This project website is in minimal support.
