Hertz, F. Lenbach, H. Levi, L. Fulda); 1897-1905 professor of history at Freiburg im Breisgau; 1901-1906 and 1907-1912 president of the Bad. Historische Kommission; collaborator in Allgemeine Deutsche Biographie.
